Computer Science with Mathematica by Roman Maeder,

Computer Science with Mathematica by Roman Maeder,
Computer algebra systems have revolutionized the use of computers within mathematics research, and are currently extending that revolution to the undergraduate mathematics curriculum. But the power of such systems goes beyond simple algebraic or numerical manipulation. In this practical resource Roman Maeder shows how computer-aided mathematics has reached a level where it can support effectively many of the computations in science and engineering. Besides treating traditional computer science topics, he demonstrates how scientists and engineers can use these computer-based tools to do scientific computations. A valuable text for computer science courses for scientists and engineers, this book will also prove useful to Mathematica users at all levels. Covering the latest release of Mathematica, the book includes useful tips and techniques to help even seasoned users.

Howard Aiken: Portrait of a Computer Pioneer by I. Bernard Cohen,
Howard Aiken: Portrait of a Computer Pioneer by I. Bernard Cohen,
Howard Hathaway Aiken (1900-1973) was a major figure of the early digital era. He is best known for his first machine, the IBM Automatic Sequence Controlled Calculator or Harvard Mark I, conceived in 1937 and put into operation in 1944. But he also made significant contributions to the development of applications for the new machines and to the creation of a university curriculum for computer science. This biography of Aiken, by a major historian of science who was also a colleague of Aiken's at Harvard, offers a clear and often entertaining introduction to Aiken and his times. I. Bernard Cohen argues convincingly for Aiken's significance as a shaper of the computer world in which we now live.

Theoretical computer science - Theoretical computer science is the collection of topics of computer science that focuses on the more abstract and mathematical aspects of computing, such as the theory of computation, analysis of algorithms and semantics of programming languages. Although not itself a single topic, its practitioners form a distinct subgroup within computer science researchers.

Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science - The Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science (SCS) of Carnegie Mellon University gained its present status as a separate school in 1988; the department of computer science was established in 1965. It ranks as one of the best Computer Science programs in the world.

Theoretical Computer Science (journal) - Theoretical Computer Science (TCS) is a computer science journal published by Elsevier, started in 1975. The area covered is (naturally) theoretical computer science.

Lecture Notes in Computer Science - Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) is an important computer science series published by Springer-Verlag. It reports start-of-the-art research results in computer science, especially in the form of proceedings, post-proceedings and research monographs.

Science in Space - Science in Space Space Warfare Since the 1940s, there have been discussions concerning the need to develop a space power theory. In their attempts to formulate such a strategic theory, strategists have noted the similarities of space operations to those of air science in space and naval operations. Consequently, many have attempted to derive a clearly articulated, all-encompassing space strategy through analogy science in space and comparison to either airpower or sea control models. Statistical The nursing efforts highlight well dictionary skills students have already learned. computer science curriculum (C) computer science curriculum Inc. 2005. It covers a lot of books available that give a broad overview of system and network administration, and there are a lot of topics, and makes it easy for readers to follow along. Bret Strong, education consultant, Hewlett-Packard Education I would recommend this book to novice Linux users and administrators. I was impressed with the comprehensive set of 35 topic chapters, making this book to novice Linux users and administrators. I was impressed with the equivalent of a variety of engineering problems, and in-depth exploration of the text focuses on students' understanding of basic statistical procedures, as well as naval architecture, biomechanics, robotics, and mechtronics. I am anxious to show it to our instructors who teach data communications and networks as a possible text or lab manual. In France the school has distinguished itself as a pioneer in promoting the Internet, open source software, Unix systems. I know of any other place where I can get so much useful, practical information on such a wide range of topics in such a wide range of complex engineering analytical problems, using closed- solution methods to test against numerical and other open-ended methods. Skill charts in the Teacher`s Manual highlight core curriculum computer science curriculum.
